So says Gus Smith, the straight shooting vacuum expert who owns A-1 Vacuum Cleaner at the crowded corner of Florida Boulevard and Little John. Gus says vacuum manufacturers frequently inflate their claims to increase sales. "They will promise you anything. I will not. I will tell you what the unit has done for many people I have sold it to in the past. You'll know what they liked or didn't like about it, so you can go in knowing what you're getting. Many of the units I sell will last you 20 or 30 years. You want to make sure the unit you purchase will be doing the job that you want over that long span of time. I don't sell disposable vacuums."
"I'm very choosey about the vacuums I sell," he continues. "I want the manufacturer to be there for both of us. Now and then you'll see okay units out there on the market, but if it's hard to get parts, or it's a troublemaker, then I won't sell it to you. We have the largest selection of new machines.
