Scoop n Doo's

A Little Taste of Hollywood

Scott Innes is WYNK's disc jockey and radio personality who, since September of 1997, has been the official voice of the loveable and ageless cartoon character, Scooby Doo. With several Hollywood films to his credit, numerous radio awards, and over 200 talking toys worldwide, Scott is just getting started. Now he has opened Scoop N Doos Ice Cream in Prairieville to go with his original shop in Brusly. Filled with the sights and the sounds of Hollywood—Scott will launch into his famous Scooby voice without warning, delighting guests of all ages—the aptly named establishment is "A Little Taste of Hollywood" right off Airline Highway in Prairieville. Go figure!

The walls and ceiling of Scoop N Doo are alive with movie posters, figurines, statuettes and other memorabilia — an ever-changing and dynamic interior landscape that is a feast for the eyes and a treat for any movie lover. "A lot of this is stuff I've picked up because I'm a movie buff," Scott says. "If I see a tin sign of Frankenstein, I'll throw it in the box. But it can get ridiculous. My wife says I overdo things, and I do. I'm a packrat. Some of it I get on the Internet, or at garage sales, or the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

About his famed character Scooby Doo, whom Scott adored as a child, he says: "Scooby Doo represents the coward in all of us. We all have a weakness or a vulnerability in life. And I think Scooby Doo typifies that we're all cowards, we're all scared of something, whether it's our shadow, the dark, whatever. Scooby is a coward. It goes back to the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz. That whole movie is about facing your fears."

Unfazed by the glitzy surface of show business, Scott says his biggest satisfaction is putting smiles on kids' faces. "We actually offer a big taste of Hollywood," he says, as he serves up a scoop of Bluebell Ice cream for one of his young guests.
