Tiger Moving

Home of the Catbox

Moving can be traumatic enough without wondering if you can trust your movers.

Having used their service on two occasions, I can testify that Tiger Moving is a business you can trust. Their workers are quick, courteous, strong, and careful. Working in synch like a sports team, my two movers carefully transferred the contents of my old apartment to their truck, then unloaded everything and set up the heavy furniture in my new apartment--all within two hours. Their price was reasonable, and their professionalism and work ethic were first-rate.

As their motto goes, "They don't pussyfoot around."

"Our trucks are very clean and our movers are dedicated," says Joan Paulson, co-owner of Tiger Moving. "We're very careful about who we hire."

"We get a lot of repeat business," adds Gregg Paulson, Joan's husband. "People know we're movers they can trust."

With years of moving experience working for himself, Gregg knows the difference between an average mover and one who is especially careful with precious items, such as antiques. "We've developed a very good reputation," says he says. "We train our crews thoroughly."

In addition to statewide moves, Tiger Moving loads and unloads rental trucks, and offers a full line of moving supplies. They will completely pack and label your possessions, and if you like, provide short and long term storage in their secure, climate-controlled warehouse.

Want storage on your own site? Tiger Moving is home to The Catbox: a unique and convenient containerized storage system, great for residences and businesses. "The Catbox storage units are especially ideal for people building a home locally," says Joan. "You can put them in your driveway and still have room to park in your driveway."

"We can deliver them directly to your home for moving or remodeling," says Gregg. "You can keep them on site for convenience. If you're moving from your home we can deliver the Catboxes, and after they're loaded up we can hold them here at the warehouse in preparation for final delivery to their new destination."

Each rugged Catbox storage container is seven feet tall, seven feet deep, and five feet wide, and is constructed from steel covered by 3/4 inch plywood. "They hold a large roomful of furniture. And if an item is too large, we'll have it wrapped and placed into our oversized area," Joan says.

Formerly in the real estate business, Joan is familiar with the pressures that frequently accompany a move. "People who call us are often stressed out. If they are having a question about the sale or closing of their house, I can often reassure them."

Joan and Gregg have been married for ten years. They rely on each other's strengths to keep their business clicking. "Joan has her talents and I have mine, which makes us very successful," says Gregg. "I couldn't do this business alone. She's more than someone who answers the phones and keeps the books. It's much deeper than that. We have a real understanding about what each other does, and we take a lot of pride in what we do."

A family business, Joan and Gregg are devoted to all of their employees. "We try to instill in them that this is their business, as well as ours," Gregg says. "We keep them happy, and in turn they keep our customers happy. Our men are uniformed, and our trucks are clean and maintained. We keep up our appearance to help instill pride in our employees. Customers see that pride. Our logo is everywhere, and we do live up to it."

Tiger Moving will soon expand to Zachary, where there is high demand for their services.
