Titan Makes Title Insurance Easy

Don Stelly is the successful owner of Titan Title, LLC as well as a talented criminal defense and personal injury attorney. Understanding how people respond to stress is a quality appreciated in both the legal and title insurance fields and, fortunately for Don's clients, he is a man who knows how to create calm. One of the first things you notice about Don Stelly is how easygoing he is; two of the lasting things you appreciate about him are his sincerity and integrity.

These days Don has a lot to say about title insurance, and he wants people to know about his company, Titan Title, LLC.

"People often don't realize how important title insurance is or how easy it is to acquire. Without it, you can lose your house . You can find yourself tied up in court for years fighting a very expensive losing cause. A simple fee can avoid that."

Sitting at his desk in his comfortable office on Government Street, Stelly says there is no excuse for not having title insurance. "We're talking about a one-time purchase, not something you have to pay every month or every year."

Titan Title, LLC was established to protect people who are buying or refinancing a house against the veiled dangers of real estate ownership: forgeries; hidden liens; the false representation of a married person as being single; faulty surveys; conveyances by a minor or frankly mentally incompetent person; and numerous other potential title defects. Even the most comprehensive search of records may not reveal them all.

"The insurance backdates to when the property was purchased to make sure the title is clean or clear," explains Stelly, adding that his company is streamlined to provide competitive pricing as well as the personalized service his clients appreciate.

"When someone calls for information, we can address that person directly," he says. "You're not put through five different departments. We're hands-on at Titan."

"Customer service has always been a big priority for us," agrees Angel Montero, Titan's closing coordinator and a former mortgage processor. "When a broker gets on the phone, I can talk his language. Back when I was on the mortgage side of the business, I wanted somebody to go on-site to brokers and real estate offices as well as to customers' homes. I wanted a fast turnaround on the paperwork-two days or less. That's exactly what we do for our clients here at Titan."

Stelly says that his firm's convenient location at 328 Government Street helps create a "hometown" office that clients feel comfortable visiting. While bigger companies often send the processing to a centralized processing area, "we do everything right here, which eliminates many mistakes." Stelly is more than willing to personally visit his clients at their homes to conduct the closing-"wherever is convenient for them." Already closing at properties statewide, Titan is in the process of obtaining loan approval for Colorado, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, and Texas.

"We'll go anywhere," says Stelly. "Our service keeps mortgage companies coming back to us."

As a practicing criminal and personal injury attorney for the past seven years, Don Stelly still goes to court three times a week and has developed good working relationships with prosecutors throughout the state. Most of his closing work for Titan takes place in the afternoon.

An active and well-rounded man who relishes variety in work as in life, Don Stelly has also been employed as a popular occasional bartender (the job helped put him through law school) at Superior Grill, a gig he relinquished only recently and not without some regret. "It's always been a welcome break from the stressful industries of law and title insurance," he says.
